The Scarlet Veil & Serpent and Dove Competition Terms and Conditions

  1. This competition is promoted by HarperCollins Publishers Ltd (“HarperCollins”), Westerhill Road, Bishopbriggs, Glasgow G64 2QT.
  2. This competition is open to all residents of the United Kingdom except employees of HarperCollins (or their parent, subsidiaries or any affiliated companies) and their immediate families.
  3. You must be at least eighteen (18) years old to enter this competition.
  4. The prize is:
    • one (1) paperback copy of The Scarlet Veil;
    • one (1) paperback copy of Serpent & Dove;
    • one (1) paperback copy of Blood & Honey;
    • and one (1) paperback copy of Gods & Monsters (the “Prize/s”).
    • There is one (1) Prize to be won and there will be one (1) winner of the competition.
  5. To enter the competition, please complete the following two actions:
    • Follow @electricmonkeybooks and @harper360ya on Instagram, and;
    • Tag another Instagram user in a comment on the @electricmonkeybooks and @harper360ya Instagram post: ‘WIN a copy of The Scarlet Veil PLUS the entire Serpent and Dove series by Shelby Mahurin!’
  6. You will need to complete both actions for your entry to be valid.
  7. The competition opens at 11:00am [BST] on Wednesday 31st July 2024 and closes at 12:00pm [BST] on Tuesday 13th August. Entries received outside of these dates and times will not be accepted.
  8. Only one (1) entry is allowed per household.
  9. If you win, no additional purchase is required to redeem the Prize.
  10. The Prize is non-refundable, non-transferable and subject to availability. No guarantee is given as to the quality of the Prize.
  11. No cash or other alternatives to the Prize is available, and HarperCollins reserve the right in their reasonable discretion to substitute any Prize with a prize of equal or greater value.
  12. The winner of the competition will be drawn at random by an electronic system from all entries that have complied with these Terms & Conditions, and will be notified no later than Friday 13th September 2024.
  13. HarperCollins is not responsible for contacting or forwarding the Prize to entrants who provide unclear or incomplete information or for entries lost, misdirected, delayed, or destroyed. If the winner cannot be contacted within a reasonable timeframe, HarperCollins reserves the right to select another winner.
  14. HarperCollins will use reasonable endeavours to deliver the Prize within one (1) month of the winner being notified that they have won the competition. However, HarperCollins is not liable for any delay in the delivery of the Prize.  
  15. HarperCollins will aim to adhere to the deadline for delivery stipulated above, however if HarperCollins are unable to meet that deadline due to circumstances arising outside of their control, HarperCollins will contact the winner to arrange redelivery and, in the unlikely event that delivery becomes impossible, HarperCollins will offer a reasonable substitute of the Prize which is of equal or greater value.
  16. HarperCollins’ decision as to who has won the competition shall be final.
  17. To obtain the name of the winner after the closing date, please write to FAO: The Scarlet Veil and Serpent and Dove competition, Farshore Marketing Team, HarperCollins Publishers, The News Building, 1 London Bridge Street, London, SE1 9GF.
  18. By entering the competition, you are agreeing that, if you win, your name and image may be used for the purpose of announcing the winner and in any related publicity with HarperCollins without any additional payment or permission. 
  19. All entrants are expected to act fairly and in the good spirit of the competition. HarperCollins reserves the right to investigate irregularities and disqualify entrants at its absolute discretion.
  20. The entry instructions are part of the Terms and Conditions for this competition. By entering this competition, you are agreeing to accept these Terms and Conditions. Any breach of these Terms and Conditions by you will mean that your entry will not be valid, and you will not be allowed to enter this competition.

  22. Under no circumstances will HarperCollins be responsible for any loss, damages, costs, or expenses arising from or in any way connected with any errors, defects, interruptions, malfunctions or delays in the promotion of the competition or Prize.
  23. Any dispute relating to the competition shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales and will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
  24. By entering this competition, you agree to the complete release of X, Instagram and Facebook in relation to this competition and promotion.
