The Battle for Roar Schools Competition Terms and Conditions
- This competition is promoted by HarperCollins Publishers Ltd (“HarperCollins”), The News Building, 1 London Bridge Street, London, SE1 9GF.
- This promotion is open to schools based in the UK only. No employees of HarperCollins (or their parent, subsidiaries or any affiliated companies) and their immediate families, are allowed to enter the competition.
- You must be 18 to enter this competition.
- To enter, please get your class to draw or describe their most imaginative dragons and send your class entries to the Farshore Marketing team by:

5. Closing date for entries is 16th July 2021 at 23:59 GMT. No entries received after this date will be accepted. Only one entry allowed per class-room.
6. No purchase necessary.
7. The prize is a class set of 30 signed copies of The Land of Roar by Jenny McLachlan plus the winning entry will receive a signed set of the Land of Roar series (x1 The Land of Roar, x1 Return to Roar and x1 The Battle for Roar), a dragon puppet and a dragon notebook.
8. The prize is non-refundable, non-transferable and subject to availability. No guarantee is given as to the quality of the prize.
9. No cash or prize alternatives are available.
10. HarperCollins reserve the right in their reasonable discretion to substitute any prize with a prize of equal or greater value.
11. The winner of the competition will be selected by Jenny McLachlan (author of The Land of Roar series) and a member of the Farshore Marketing team based on the following criteria: i) creative interpretation and notified by email no later than 19th July 2021
12. You will retain ownership of all intellectual property rights (including copyright) in your entry, but you agree to grant us a licence to use it for digital marketing purposes (including on social media) and for any other purpose connected to this promotion.
The licence will last for the duration of the relevant intellectual property right and includes the right for us to:
12.1 edit or modify your entry (including resizing, adjusting the colour and adding elements such as text);
12.2 adapt it or incorporate it into other materials;
12.3 republish it (or any version modified in the way described above) on any media anywhere in the world.
13. The prize will be delivered to the winner within one (1) month of the competition’s closing date
13.1 During this period of uncertainty, we will aim to adhere to the deadline for delivery stipulated, however in the event we are unable to meet that deadline due to the current circumstances and potential unforeseen factors outside our control, we will ensure relevant timely communication with the winner and in the unlikely event delivery becomes impossible, we may offer a refund or a reasonable substitute product.
14. Any application containing incorrect, false or unreadable information will be rejected. Any applications made on behalf of or for another person or multiple entries will not be included in the competition.
15. HarperCollins’ decision as to who has won the competition shall be final.
16. To obtain the name of the prize winner after the closing date, please write to Farshore Marketing Team, HarperCollins Publishers, The News Building, 1 London Bridge Street, London, SE1 9GF.
17. The entry instructions are part of the Terms and Conditions for this competition.
18. By entering the competition, you are agreeing to accept these Terms and Conditions. Any breach of these Terms and Conditions by you will mean that your entry will not be valid, and you will not be allowed to enter this competition.
19. By entering this competition, you are agreeing that if you win your name and image may be used for the purpose of announcing the winner in any related publicity with HarperCollins, without additional payment or permission. You can remove your consent to this at any time.

21. Under no circumstances will HarperCollins be responsible for any loss, damages, costs or expenses arising from or in any way connected with any errors, defects, interruptions, malfunctions or delays in the promotion of the competition or prize.
22. HarperCollins will not be responsible unless required by law, for any loss, changes, costs or expenses, which may arise in connection with this competition and HarperCollins can cancel or alter the competition, including these terms and conditions, at any stage.
23. Any dispute relating to the competition shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales and will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
